Description

Once you might have gently shaken the excess water off your gummed tape – take hold of each and every end in the wet tape keeping the tape straight.

Q. The paper has air bubbles underneath it when wet.

Now you might have to smooth the tape down a little. The thing to bear in mind here is usually to do it gently, as we do not desire to stretch the tape. You may also see some air bubbles under the tape. We do not want these to remain there. What I do to smooth the tape and to take away any air bubbles is straightforward:

Once your paper is layed on the board you might see some air bubbles under the paper. Just gently lift two corners and roll that area back – and then let it go again. The paper will drop back into location,http://www.febapelcouture.com/blog/Nike-Free-4.0-V2-Mens-Royalblue-Yellow-Running-Shoes.html. Do not worry an excessive amount of about the air bubbles if they’re not excessive but if they run from 1 side to the other and trigger the tape to lift – then lift the paper once more. Air bubbles underneath the paper generally sort themselves out when the paper is drying. The only air bubbles you’ll need to take note of are the ones under the tape that we are about to location on our paper and board. Much more about that beneath:

Materials that I like to use

Remedy: Just lift the tape off and use new piece of tape that has been completely immersed.

Take the tape for your paper – going about your board instead of more than it. We do not wish to drip the gum on the paper!

How to stretch paper

I take my tape to the water. Holding 1 end with 1 hand I run it through the water reasonably swiftly – whilst ensuring the tape is completely immersed underwater with the other hand. (I press the tape down under the water with my other hand). As I stated – I do this quite swiftly so the tape is just “run through” the water – not soaked,http://www.febapelcouture.com/blog/nike-free-3.0-v6.html.

Now you’ll find a few points to watch out for at this stage:

After 3 minutes I take my paper out of the water and hold 1 corner to enable the excess water to run off. The paper will feel pliable and whenever you give it just a little shake – it’ll remind you of a thick, soft fabric as it waves back and forth. Take your paper to your board. Bow the paper in half to develop a gentle roll within the center and line this center up with the center of one’s board.

Removing your paper after you might have completed your painting

Beneath you will locate directions on how I enjoy to stretch my watercolor paper. It is interspersed with several hints and suggestions to make sure you don’t come unstuck by the ‘traps for young players’. I want this to become a reference point so I’ve explained anything that I can possibly believe of that could go incorrect – so you’ll have all of the remedies must you encounter an issue.

I use two sizes of Gator Board – depending on the size of painting I wish to create: 16″x24″ or 24″x24″

Hold the tape above – and as much as the edge of your board. The edge of your board is going to be square so it really is great to use as a guide. Square the tape up using the board edge. Now nonetheless holding the tape above the board and paper – simply move the tape more than the edge of your paper allowing it to cover 1/2 – 3/4 inch of paper edge. Lower the tape onto the paper.

I by no means have a problem stretching paper – so if you do knowledge one thing – then it’ll be one thing easy. Probably the most common of these is employing the wrong board to stretch the paper on. Or making use of the wrong tape. Sadly you’ll find some substandard tapes in the marketplace.

Trouble-shooting:

Q. Splatter pattern in your painting

-Dry your paper flat-Do not elevate at any stage-Do not use a hair dryer to speed drying. (You’ll be able to use a hair dryer when painting – but not in the stretching paper stage)-Do not sit your paper in the sunshine

Before wetting your paper, check that your paper fits on your board – allowing a minimum of 1/2 inch margin of board showing about the paper. The far more the better.

You do not wish to splash any of the gum from the tape onto the location you’re going to paint. Once we have wet our tape – we should be mindful in the liquid emulsified gum on the back of the gummed tape. If this drips on your painting surface this will turn into a problem for you.

You can establish the appropriate side by holding the paper as much as the light. You are going to see an indented trademark in one corner. If it reads the right way – then that is your appropriate side. I use my bath to soak my paper, so I take my strips of tape (already cut), my board and my paper to my bathroom. Maintain your strips of gummed tape nicely out in the way of one’s board, which you might have placed on the floor in a handy location to do your stretching. You do not desire to drip water on the tape. I place my board on the floor close to the bath.
